Year 5 Remote Learning Weekly Timetable

Here a few comments from parents and children regarding home learning in lockdown.

What have been the strengths of the remote learning for your child in the current lockdown?

  •  Live lessons have kept my child on task and focussed. Expectation of meeting to go through answers means work is completed in a timely fashion. Having several live meets outside of registration means work feels valued and still as important as when in school. Having story time at the end of the day is a super way to gather in a less formal, more relaxing way. For my child, the balance has been just right.
  • Regular contact with their teacher and fellow classmates is very good for their mental health. A robust routine is great. It's really good that maths and English are covered in the morning when their attention is fresh, with more variety in the afternoon session.
  • Being able to learn alongside her teacher and friends
  • Improving computer skills
  • Some of the year 5 pre recorded sessions have been absolutely exceptional.
  • PE links to interesting videos
  • Having access to a teacher to ask questions if unsure, has been a great help for us.
  • My children have been in school but have had a couple of days at home. We have been very impressed with the teaching offered- from the live sessions & the accessibility to the work. It is clear just how hard all the staff are working and I hope this hard work will be recognised by all.
  • Structure, engagement with her teacher and classmates, varied and interesting topics.
  • Structure, varied lessons, opportunity to see teachers face for continuity. Nice to see positive relationships between staff and pupils from home.
  • I think that the live lessons work well for  this age of child .
  • Actually wanting to do school work and enjoys been in a set routine.
